The Toratau Geopark together with the Children’s Eco-Biological Centre organised a series of field lectures by the professors of the Republican Children’s Eco-Biological Centre, telling the students of Lyceum №12 in Ishimbay about Entomology and Ornithology.
Герасимов Сергей Владимирович познакомил ребят с удивительным миром редких краснокнижных насекомых, обитающих, в том числе, на территории геопарка Торатау. Ребята узнали, для чего у некоторых бабочек на крыльях расположены «глаза», чем отличаются дневные бабочки от ночных и почему многие люди ошибочно принимают бражников за колибри.
Elsa Gabbasova held an interesting lecture on ornithology and shared with the kids the habitat characteristics of cormorants, waxwings, peregrines and other birds spread in Bashkiria. She also told how to use bird wintering to measure the human-caused climate change.
